Auto-connect the device when it is available - MIA

I have a USB UltraPro - SafeNet Inc. USB dongle running on a 4.3 Server license (Windows 2003 Server 32bit host) towards a 4.3 Client on a Virtual Machine (Server Windows 2003 32bit).
The "Auto-connect the device when it is available" feature does not seem to stick. If the client-machine restarts, the box is unchecked and the USB dongle does not connect on startup.
 
Any ideas?

We have already released USB over Network 4.4. Could you please test the latest version?

Did the "auto-connect" feature work before?

I don't know if the license permits me to upgrade to 4.4 for free or not, but so far I haven't considered it, due to the fact that the 4.3 server hosts several similar USB dongles with other 4.3 clients without any problems.
This particular client is a fresh install, and has just connected to the server host as number six of a possible 8 (according to the license).
 
If the license upgrade is free; is your recommendation to upgrade to the 4.4 version on the server, and all the other clients as well?

And what about other USB over network Clients, can they auto-connect this very dongle?
Are the machines with USB over network Clients are the same, do they all have the same configuration?

Yes all the instances of USB over Network must be updated because version 4.3 and 4.4 is incompatible.
